Martha

I attended my first yoga class in 1980 here in Lincoln County and knew it would be a life changer for me. Since then I have studied several forms of yoga, finding benefits from all schools. After my retirement from nursing in 2013 I attended a 200 hour teacher training at the Sola School of Contemplative Arts in Portland, Or. I volunteered at the Newport Sixty Plus Center teaching active Seniors but resigned from that position when the birth of our granddaughter found me in Portland on an almost full time basis.
I believe that yoga is good for every body no matter what age you come to it. The benefits of yoga are well documented with stress reduction , quieting the mind, opening the heart and finding the ability to reach your shoelaces being just a few. I want to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for the people of my community focusing on alignment and the safety of my students. I strive to teach in a relaxed atmosphere with emphasis on the breath plus flexibility and strengthening for both mind and body. May all beings live in peace. May they be healthy, happy and safe, Namasté
